A Bright New Boise
by Hyde Park Theatre

Sep. 25 - Oct. 25, 2014

Winner of the 2011 Obie Award for Playwriting and nominated for the 2011 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, Samuel D. Hunter's A Bright New Boise takes place in the break room of a Hobby Lobby in Boise, Idaho, where a man reconnects with the teenage son he hasn't seen since the boy was an infant. Savagely funny, deeply moving.

And by the way--just before we opened, Hunter was awarded a 2014 Macarthur Genius Award.

The production stars Benjamin Summers (Tragedy: a tragedy), Rebecca Robinson (Circle Mirror Transformation), Nate Jackson (Port Authority, punk play), Chase Brewer (punk play), and Katie Kohler (of the two-time FronteraFest Best-of-Fest winners The Back Pack). Ken Webster directs.
