The University of Texas at Austin’s award-winning ensemble Dance Repertory Theatre returns to the stage with Kinesthetic Imperative. The spring concert is a showcase of unique and compelling dance works created by nationally renowned choreographers, including Merce Cunningham, a leader of American avant-garde dance.

Kinesthetic Imperative Decoded, a special pre-performance discussion, will be held on Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7 in conjunction with the Department of Theatre and Dance’s production Kinesthetic Imperative. Guest Speakers include Kinesthetic Imperative artistic directors David Justin and Yacov Sharir, who will share their insight on the evening’s performance. Kinesthetic Imperative Decoded begins at 7:30 p.m. in the B. Iden Payne Theatre.

Pre-show champagne reception
Thursday night’s performance will include a special pre-show champagne reception with Chair Brant Pope and dance faculty. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. (with light food) followed by a pre-performance discussion with artistic directors David Justin and Yacov Sharir.
