A modern reimagining of The Trojan Women that explores family, displacement, grief, resilience, and what it means to become the victim of an unexpected war that treats you as a powerless stranger in your own land.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Henriqua was full of love for her life—until an ICE raid upends everything she knows.

Trapped somewhere along the Texas border in a sweltering ICE detention facility with other detainees, San Antonio native Henriqua wonders why she and her family were targeted and what happened to the rest of them. One by one, she meets with her surviving daughters, each of whom is forced to leave, until the moment comes when Henriqua must face the awful truth: her home is no more.
