KING OF HEARTS is a musical love story based on the popular film directed by Philippe de Broca.  The story is set in the fictional French village of DuTemps in September 1918, just at the end of World War 1, and follows Private Johnny Able’s whimsical quest for self-purpose.  A marvel in its reach and in its moods, KING OF HEARTS offers us something profoundly rare and magical – a romantic escape into the fantastic to discover the redemptive power of love.

The Alchemy Theatre brings its transformative and authentic storytelling to this rarely produced musical with music by Peter Link, lyrics by Jacob Brackman, book by Steve Tesich, directed by Michael Cooper and produced by Marnie Near.

The cast includes Patrick Regner, Sarah-Marie Curry, Sebastian Vitale, Chelsea Lane, Tim Blackwood, David Dech, Rachel Ditzig, Max Green, Leslie Hethcox, Sara Zare Ranjbar, Christopher Saenz, Noah Steele and Nicholaus Weindel.

The KING OF HEARTS creative team includes Music Director Ellie Jarrett Shattles, Choreographer Kelly Hasandras, Costume Designer Stephanie Slayton, Lighting, Sound & Projection Designer Zackary Read, Set Designer Corey Green with Lucky Giraffe, Stage Manager Britney Salyer and Graphic Designer Paige Hoover.
