In The Glare
by University of Texas Theatre & Dance

Nov. 02 - Nov. 05, 2017
Thursday-Saturday

In the Glare is a documentary theater piece exploring medical trauma from the physican's perspective. In October of 2016, Graham Schmidt commenced a series of interviews with physicians and medical professionals about their experiences of grief and loss. These interviews have spanned the past 15 months.

How do physicians experience the deaths of patients? How does suffering wear them down? How does it make them better healers? Drawing on Schmidt's interviews with physicians and hospital personnel, Glare invites us to rethink about the ways we encounter suffering and grief, and the medical profession as a whole. Runtime: 35 minutes.
