Announcing the newest theatre company in Round Rock, Texas “MAD Productions”

Round Rock, Texas—  There is a new theatre production company in Round Rock and they are MAD about theatre! Birthed out of the need for quality family entertainment, and a need to train and grow new theatre artist comes MAD PRODUCTIONS! Founded by veteran theatre artists and educators Olin Meadows, Cari Ancelet, and Rhonda and Tessa Demings, MAD Productions seeks to incorporate family entertainment with a new educational theatre program. 

The format for MAD Productions is simple, quality family entertainment the uses professional actors and student actors to create theatre fit for the whole family.  Partnering with schools, churches, and local businesses, MAD Productions plans to perform classic literature and new works at various venues throughout Round Rock. Starting this September with their production of ALICE IN WONDERLAND. 

MAD Productions mission is to entertain, inform, and educate, thereby enriching the cultural life of the Greater Round Rock area. M.A.D. Productions exists to provide Round Rock area residents the opportunity both to attend and to participate in quality presentations of a cross-section of the finest theatrical works available. 

MAD Productions is founded by Olin Meadows, Cari Ancelet, and the mother-daughter dynamic duo Rhonda and Tessa Demings. Each of the founding members are both theatre artist and educators. Olin Meadows is an award-winning director who received the Best of Round Rock award for his production of Peter Pan at Sam Bass Theatre this past Christmas. In addition to directing Mr. Meadows is a skilled actor winning awards for his performances for the past 20 plus years. Mr. Meadows has a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Theatre from Western Governors University and has taught students of all ages. Mr. Meadows will serve as Artistic Director of MAD Productions. 

Cari Ancelet is currently the Director of Theatre for C.D. Fulkes Middle School, where she has a long history of receiving superior ratings in district One Act Play Contests. Mrs. Ancelt has been an educator for over 15 years, where she has helped groomed countless theatre artists who are now performing all over the country. Aside from educating Mrs. Ancelet is an accomplished actress whose theatrical resume includes many of Austin’s most respected theatre companies and artists. Cari Ancelet is the Associate Artistic Director of MAD Productions.

Rhonda and Tessa Demings, the dynamic Mother-Daughter duo that has brought Round Rock, Aladdin Jr., Beauty and the Beast Jr., Into The Woods Jr. and others is the third component of what makes MAD Productions so special. The Demings are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to youth theatre. Tessa Demings has directed and choreographed countless musicals for youth performers, which rival professional adult productions across the globe. By her side is Rhonda Demings the ultimate Stage-Manager whose joins the MAD Team as the Managing Director keeping everything in order. Both Tessa and Rhonda bring with them years of theatre experience and a horde of talented youth actors that are some of the most highly trained actors in the City of Round Rock. 

Round Rock will be able to get their first taste of MADness this September when they present ALICE IN WONDERLAND directed by Artistic Director Olin Meadows and starring founding member Tessa Demings in the title role of ALICE. More details about this production including Auditions and Performance Dates will be announced soon.
