This side-splitting comic romp finds couple Suzannah and Gibby Haden a bit at odds in their life and marriage of 27 years. Overwhelmed by the responsibilities of home and a busy career and exasperated by her lovable, but less than helpful husband, Suzannah finds the answer to her prayers in Beth Bailey, her newly hired, highly motivated assistant! Beth explodes into the Hayden household creating an orderly calm in Suzannah's world, and complete chaos in Gibby’s.
Suspicious of this "Southern Belle from Hell", Gib sees Beth's real agenda is to get rid of him so she can undermine Suzannah and steal her big promotion at Carmichael's Chocolates. Every move she makes sees Beth closer to her goal and pushes Gib further out the door! In a desperate attempt to save his marriage, Gibby enlists some zany friends to help him expose the conniving Beth, and reclaim Suzannah's affections. Their effort to stop Beth at any cost sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry just as Suzannah's boss, Celia Carmichael, arrives for an all-important, career changing dinner.
