The Missing Element
by Cohen New Works Festival, University of Texas

Apr. 14 - Apr. 17, 2015
Tuesday-Friday

In a world where the elements on the periodic table have been shoved into tiny boxes of separation, characterization, and identification, unrest stirs amongst Groups 1 & 2 against the Nobles. The Missing Element is an explosive artistic endeavor which infuses the art of story-telling and education with exploratory design and performance. As the fundamental laws of chemistry are defined, denied, and destroyed, this genre of scientific fantasy attempts to explain and interpret basic patterns and trends of Dmitri Mendeleev’s periodic table. Join us on our journey across the table forming and breaking bonds along the way to upturn the unequal distribution of power. In a fight for freedom and equality, love and loss is found as the age-old adage of “opposites attract” cannot be denied.
