The Golden Age
by Brazos Theatre of Waco

Sep. 25 - Sep. 26, 2015
Friday-Saturday

A staged reading and dinner by the Brazos Theatre Group. What secrets does she keep? Rumored to be the inspiration behind The Great Gatsby's beautiful Daisy, Isabel Hastings Hoyt is also thought to possess a lost and scintillating chapter from that very book.

Into the seclusion of our recluse's elegant retreat bursts Tom (B.J. Williams), a kind of literary Lochinvar out of the Midwest. Tom is bent on unveiling the closely guarded secrets of Isabel (Jan Derrickson), once the darling of the 1920s literary set, whose retirement may or may not be as gilded as it seems. Mrs. Hoyt's only companion is her dowdy, twice-divorced granddaughter, Virginia (Melora Roach), who solaces herself with alcohol and befriends stray cats.
