ZACH Theatre is proud to announce the cast for the 2016-17 Theatre for Families Series opener, Charlotte’s Web, playing on the Kleberg Stage October 14 – December 3, 2016 [EXTENDED to January 15, 2017] under the direction of Nat Miller, ZACH Theatre Education Director. When Fern saves Wilbur, the smallest pig in the litter, Wilbur’s fate falls in the hand of a seemingly fragile web of Charlotte the spider. Charlotte weaves a path to freedom for Wilbur in this heartwarming tale of friendship and devotion featuring bluegrass music and aerial artists from partner Sky Candy. Sharing the role of Fern are MARIELA DENSON and MERCY BOVIK (A Christmas Carol) with RILEY MCCUE and DEIGO RODRUIGUEZ (Mary Poppins, James and the Giant Peach, A Christmas Carol) in the role of Wilbur. Charlotte the spider is played by WINNIE HSIA, founder of Sky Candy.

 

Rounding out the cast are AMBER QUICK (Mary Poppins, James and the Giant Peach) as the Narrator; AMANDA CLIFTON as the Goose; JOSEPH QUINTANA as Templeton; JEROME SCHOOLAR as Homer; ALLEN ROBERTSON (A Christmas Carol, Winnie The Pooh, A Year with Frog and Toad) as the lead musician with LYDIA MEYERS and CHASE BREWER as understudies to the female and male roles.

 

 

The creative team behind ZACH Theatre’s production of Charlotte’s Web includes NAT MILLER as the Director; ALLEN ROBERTSON as Music Director; MICHAEL KRAUSS as Scenic and Properties Designer; BRANDON MCWILLIAMS as Costume Designer; RACHEL ATKINSON as Lighting Designer; RODD SIMONSEN as Sound Designer, and MEGAN SMITH as Stage Manager. Charlotte’s Web is based on the Story by E.B. White, adapted by Joseph Robinette.

Public performances of Charlotte’s Web are Friday, October 14 at 6:30 p.m., select Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and select Sundays at 2 p.m. This show is appropriate for children ages 3 and older. The run time is approximately one hour and ten minutes.
