The Book of Will
by Playhouse 2000

Aug. 09 - Aug. 25
Fridays-Sundays

After Shakespeare’s death, Henry Condell and John Heminges, two members of the famed “Kings Men” acting troupe, dedicated their lives and fortunes to capturing his amazing body of work, and saving it from the clutches of unscrupulous publishers who were sullying his legacy with horribly inaccurate versions.

Written by the playwright Laura Gunderson, who crafted Silent Sky, The Book of Will uses actual history mixed with theatrical magic to tell the amazing tale behind the publication of “The First Folio;” the very first collection of the plays of William Shakespeare.
The Book of Will has been called “an unforgettable true story of love, loss, and laughter, and a new light on a man we thought we knew.” It will be an unforgettable night of theater – don’t miss it!
• Steinberg Award: Best New Play (American Theater Critics Association)
