ProyectoTEATRO, en colaboración con The Vortex, Escándalo!, y un elenco fenomenal de artistas escénicos, los invitan a echarse un brinquito al pasado con mucho sentido del humor que los llevará a descubrir el origen del mundo Latino (bueno, nuestra versión), lleno de comicidad y sensualidad. Veremos la novela de amor de como (y con qué) la Malinche sedujo al Hernán Cortés, el origen del sentir Latino, a Cristóbal Colón y su banda de colonizadores en paños menores, el debut de la Virgen María, y ¡toda la picardía de nuestra cultura dentro de un escenario lleno de lentejuelas, bailes, improv, drag y canto al estilo cabaret!

ProyectoTEATRO celebra el mes de la herencia Hispana
con un espectáculo de cabaret en español:
ProyectoTEATRO da inicio a su temporada de aniversario de 20 años con un espectáculo de cabaret original y en español para arrancar el mes de la herencia Hispana en Austin.
Esta producción también arranca la residencia 2023-2024 de ProyectoTEATRO en The VORTEX y será el primer capítulo de CABAREX, una trilogía de espectáculos que exploran la historia y la cultura latinoamericana por medio de cápsulas de teatro, improv, canto en vivo, comedia sketch, drag y danza, en colaboración con organizaciones y artistas Latinos/Latinx de Austin.
CABAREX es un espectáculo en español, spanglish, y con subtítulos en inglés.

In collaboration with The VORTEX, Escándalo!, and a cast of amazing Latinx performing artists, ProyectoTEATRO invites audiences to jump back in time with this comedic, risqué journey to discover the origins of the Latino world (or, at least, ProyectoTEATRO’s version of how it all began). Learn how the Malinche seduced Cortez (and perhaps with what *wink*). Discover the birthplace of Latino passion. Catch a glimpse of Cristopher Columbus and his band of skimpy colonizers, the Virgin Mary’s debut, and more spicy cultural quirks in a full-on, bedazzled cabaret show full of dance, improv, drag, and live singing.
ProyectoTEATRO Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
with a Latinx Cabaret in Spanish at The VORTEX
ProyectoTEATRO kicks off their twentieth anniversary season Saturday September 23, 2023, with an originally-devised, Spanish-language cabaret show to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
This production marks the start of ProyectoTEATRO's 2023-2024 residency at The VORTEX and will be the first chapter of the company's CABAREX trilogy, a collaborative project with other local Latinx artists exploring Latino cultural and history through theatre, improv, dance, live singing, drag, and sketch comedy.
The show will be performed in Spanish, Spanglish, and with English supertitles.
