            In 1970, renowned writer/composer/lyricist Leslie Bricusse adapted the classic Charles Dickens tale A Christmas Carol into the hit screen musical Scrooge starring Albert Finney. This stage version, based on the film with the addition of six new songs, will star FTC Founder Jeryl Hoover as the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge who repents his past life when visited by three successive Christmas spirits.

            Cast in the production are Hoover as Scrooge, Bill Sadd as Jacob Marley, Faith Reily as Ghost of Christmas Past, Ryan Hoover as Ghost of Christmas Present, Barry Sikes as Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, Jeff Jeffers as Tom Jenkins, Joel Keefer as Pringle, Tommy LeFan as Mr. Fezziwig, Christy LeFan as Mrs. Fezziwig, Tyson Zinsmeyer as Young Ebenezer, Lucinda Harvey as Isabel, Seth Smith as Bob Cratchit, Amy Taylor as Mrs. Cratchit, Leah McDade as Tiny Tim, Courtney Jensen as Kathy, Ian Kasukonis as Peter, Tess Kothmann as Belinda, Gemma Kasukonis as Martha, Elliott Dooley as Nephew, Holly Robinson as Helen, Christy Brown as Mary, and Jeremiah Sisemore as Boy with Sled. Cast as Phantoms are Levi Sisemore, Tommy LeFan, and Barry Sikes. 

            Also playing multiple roles in the ensemble are Levi Sisemore, Tommy LeFan, Barry Sikes, Joel Keefer, Elliott Dooley, Jeff Jeffers, Sara Sisemore, Holly Robinson, Lucinda Harvey, Christy LeFan, Amy Taylor, Christy Brown, Sheri Robinson, Kathy Weaver, Ruthann Hoover, Donna Vaughan, Faith Reily, and Jolene Keefer.

            Cast in the children’s chorus are Tess Kothmann, Leah McDade, Gemma Kasukonis, Ian Kasukonis, Owen Kasukonis, Evelyn Melton, Vivian Melton, Jeremiah Sisemore, Benjamin Sisemore, Molly Hoover, Ada Watson, Eliza Watson, Courtney Jensen, Kenley Kiehne, and Palin Schneider.       

            Jeryl Hoover plays the title role and also will direct and music direct the production, with guest artist Judd Vermillion executing the scenic design. FTC Resident Stage Manager Courtney LeFan will serve as stage manager. FTC staff member Heidi Melton will choreograph. Guest designer Faith Castanéda will serve as lighting designer and FTC staff member Chasity Trajcheski will design the costumes.

           About the Fredericksburg Theater Company: The mission of the Fredericksburg Theater Company (FTC) is “to provide superior theatrical programs for regional participation which entertain, educate, enrich and inspire.” Formed in 1997 by Jeryl Hoover, the theater has grown to an audience of over 13,000 annually. All performances are held at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater.  Performances are December 10th through the 19th, 2021, Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets for Scrooge go on sale to donors Monday, November 22nd at 9:00 a.m. Tickets go on sale to the public Monday, November 29th, at 9:00 a.m.

Admission is $29 for adults, $12 for children 17 and under.

Box office hours beginning November 29th are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m.
