Color Arc Productions presents its first Work-In-Progress Concert Reading of ROMEO & KATRINA, a new American musical set during New Orleans' recovery from Hurricane Katrina. ROMEO & KATRINA is a love story that explores our connections with home, family, and community. It asks whether we are more alike than we are different.

Romeo Tran and Katrina "Trina" Batiste live on different sides of the Mississippi River. Romeo is a blue-collar Vietnamese American mechanic from Westbank New Orleans. Trina is a “bougie” pre-med college student from an affluent black family in Eastbank New Orleans. As Romeo & Katrina’s relationship grows, so too does the New Orleans Saints as they ascend to win their first-ever Super Bowl Championship in NFL history.

ROMEO & KATRINA was conceived by Christine Hoang, a Vietnamese American playwright/screenwriter who was born and raised in the blue collar suburbs of Westbank New Orleans.
