The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie
by Austin Actors Studio

Aug. 17 - Sep. 02, 2018
Fridays-Sundays

Set in Edinburgh, Scotland in the 1930’s, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is a cautionary tale about a passionate, charismatic, slightly narcisstic teacher and her “brood” of students. Miss Brodie does not conform to the conservative curriculum at school, preferring to focus on beauty and art. Her students and admirers adore her and she loves the adoration. Miss Brodie is larger than life and a born leader. However, the way she leads causes concern and eventual her betrayal. Her fire shines light into the darkness, but it is a fire that also burns.

Milton Zoth is directing the classic play "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" by Texas native Jay Presson Allen, based on the story by Muriel Sparks.
