Emmett Till, a young black boy away from home for the first time, is caught up in the horror of the Jim Crow South when he is kidnapped and lynched for “whistling” at a white woman. Based on a true story, TILL explores the short life of Emmett and the superhuman love of his mother, Mamie.

Directed by Robert King, Jr., with musical direction by Nikki Birdsong. Featuring Vincent Hooper.

Part of the MainStreet Musicals Festival in Austin.

 I am need of African American actors and actress for a staged reading next month! This is an amazing project that I have been brought on board to direct but I cannot do it without your help. Single performance is at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, at the Trinity Street Players' black box theatre at First Baptist Church (First Austin), 901 Trinity Street.

Mose (Mamie’s Uncle, Alma’s Brother-in-law, aka “Preacher”), black, 50s-80s

Wheeler (Emmett’s first cousin once removed, Emmett’s best friend), black, playable age: teenager

Maurice (Mose’s eldest son) black, teens/early twenties

Simeon (Mose’s youngest son) black, playable age: pre-teen/teen,
