Harold Hill (Male, 25-40 yrs old, Baritone/Tenor, Ab2-F4) – A charismatic and charming protagonist, as well as a con man working under the guise of a traveling salesman, he eventually falls in love with Marian Paroo.
 
Marian Paroo (Female, 20-30 yrs old, Soprano, G3-A5) – Both stuck up and curious, she is the River City town librarian and music teacher who eventually falls in love with Harold Hill.
 
Mrs. Paroo (Female, 35-65 yrs old, Mezzo-Soprano) – Mother of Marian and Winthrop Paroo.
 
Mayor Shinn (Male, 40-65 yrs old) – The Mayor of River City, Iowa.
 
Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn (Female, 40-65 yrs old, Alto) – Wife of Mayor Shinn.
 
Marcellus Washburn (Male, 25-50 yrs old, Tenor) – Former con man and friend of Harold Hill who resides in River City, Iowa.
 
Male Quartet: Ewart Dunlop, Oliver Hix, Jacey Squires, & Olin Brit (Male, 20-50 yrs old) – A group of bickering businessmen that Hill unites into smooth crooners that harken back to the barbershop quartets of yesteryear.
 
Pick-a-Little-Ladies: Alma Hix, Maud Dunlop, Ethel Toffelmier, Mrs. Squires (Female, 20-50 yrs old) – A group of gossipy ladies who are the first know everything going on in River City
 
Various Townspeople: Charlie Cowell, Constable Locke, & Other Ensemble Members (Male & Female, 16-60 yrs old) – Various persons needed to portray the cast of characters in River City, Iowa.
 
All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
