Weather and circumstance bring together Mikey, Snake, Miss Candace, Motor, Mac, and Julie - all of whom are on the street for different reasons, here now to navigate their relationships, dreams, and often, survival.

Ground Floor Theatre is holding auditions for rain falls special on me written by Lane Michael Stanley and directed by Patti Neff-Tiven.

Auditions will be held at Ground Floor Theatre (979 Springdale Rd Suite 122) on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 1 pm – 5 pm by appointment only (contact info below). Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Auditioners should bring a resume and headshot with them. Ground Floor Theatre is committed to inclusivity and as such unless specifically called for in the script, we cast without consideration to ability, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, size, or shape.

MIKEY, 60’s, Black. Likes the quiet life. Uses a wheelchair. Born in Houston, Texas.
SNAKE, 40’s, Latinx. Imprisoned from 1997 to this February; catching up on the internet. Born in Rochester, New York.
MISS CANDACE, 60’s, white. Always shabbier than her dog, Roscoe. Born in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MOTOR, 50’s, white. Gender is a moving target. Fast talker. Born in Miami, Oklahoma.
MAC, 30’s, white. Privilege boy up until his discharge from the Marines in 2007. Born in Burnet, Texas.
JULIE, Late Teens-Early 20’s, biracial Latinx and white. Rippin' and runnin'. Born in Austin, Texas.


Performances April 30 – May 16, 2020, with rehearsals beginning in late March.
