ABBA’s hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.  The story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter, and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. A large cast non-stop laughs, and explosive dance numbers combine to make Mamma Mia! a guaranteed smash hit .


The Georgetown Palace will hold auditions for our production of Mamma Mia! Saturday, February 8th, 2020 through Tuesday the 11th. Singing auditions Saturday and Sunday, Dance on Monday (invited) Callbacks on Tuesday from 7:00-10:00 pm. Callbacks are posted on the Palace website.

The production will open Friday, April 17th , 2020 and close Sunday, May 24th.

We will be casting 24-30 awesome people for principles and featured performers/ensemble.  There is are no children’s roles in this shows and we ask that auditioners be 16 years old and up.  

 

Character breakdown/Sides

Please prepare one or two of the provided vocal sides that you feel best shows off your vocal and acting ability. If you would like to be considered for more than two leading roles (Donna, Tanya, and Rosie–for instance), please prepare the two sides you feel best represent your skills and list all roles you are interested in on your audition form.

Dancer Audition: We will begin with a brief warm-up, then straight into combinations.  You must attend the dance audition to be considered for any role in the production.  Please bring sneakers/hightops/athletic shoes.  

 

Auditions are located in the Palace Theatre, on the Springer Stage 810 S. Austin Ave Georgetown TX 78626.

 

Callbacks will be by invitation only and held Tuesday, February 11th, starting at 6:30 pm.  Callbacks are posted on the palace website, not via email.

 

Auditions are scheduled online via the Palace website. You will fill out the audition form, sign up for a time, and fill out the conflict calendar, as well as upload a headshot and resume. Questions should be emailed to productions@georgetownpalace.com

 

You will receive an email confirming your appointment. If you are unable to attend any of the audition times, please send us an email and we will try to work with you to schedule an alternative time.

Rehearsals will begin around Feb. 24th. We will distribute scripts and music the week after auditions. 

 

Rehearsals are typically held Monday through Thursday from 7:00-10:00 pm and Saturday 1:00-5:00 pm. Performances are Friday and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm. Sometimes ticket demand causes us to add Saturday Matinee performances at 2 pm.

 

Background checks: Everyone involved with the production must submit to a background check at the Palace’s expense. If you are cast, you will receive a secure link where you can fill it out. There is no cost to you.

 

The Georgetown Palace Theatre is 501c3 Non-profit organization. There is no compensation for any of the actors.

 

We practice non-traditional casting, and all roles are open. All ages, abilities, gender, and ethnicities are encouraged to participate.
