TITLE: Resident Stage Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Full time, non-exempt

SALARY: $600.00 per week

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

CONTRACT START DATE: September 25, 2023

The Resident Stage Manager is responsible for coordinating with the Production Manager to ensure that all aspects of touring productions are completed in time for the first public performance, and in accordance with industry best practices and Magik Theatre’s policies and procedures.The Resident Stage Manager is an active communicator between artistic staff, production teams, front of house staff, and administrative staff for anything related to productions.

Duties:

● Participating in the planning process, which includes attending production meetings and preparing show contact sheets, rehearsal/production calendars, and rehearsal/performance reports.

● Participating in performances as the stage manager, which includes setting call times and normal pre-performance functions to prepare the cast, crew, and stage, coordinating all production maintenance and/or delivery of broken items to a shop if necessary.

● Record keeping, which includes compilation and distribution of rehearsal/tech notes, performance reports, maintenance and filing of the prompt book, accident reports, collection of all receipts.

● Coordination of show-specific needs with schools, marketing, front-of-house, and box office both prior to and during performance run.

● Maintaining the director’s intentions during the performance run including giving line, blocking, and technical notes as necessary.

● Maintaining and distributing weekly schedules to Magik staff.

● Operating sound, video, and lighting as needed during performances and/or calling cues.

● Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

● stage management experience.

● a sense of humor, adaptability, and love of theatre for young audiences.

● the ability to wake up early in the morning.

● the ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs and climb ladders.

● a valid driver’s license and be able to drive large passenger vans.

● experience with Google Workspace, QLab, and basic audio skills a plus
