Howdy! You might be asking yourself, "What's Shoebill?" We're an independent live theatre production company based in Austin, Texas! Shoebill Productions was founded in 2025 by playwright Nolan Myers; director/teacher Mariah Mendoza; and actor Hunter Simon . We specialize in offbeat, weird, and experimental theatre. Our production philosophy is simple: we partially devise every play we make and ensure that everyone in our company has a say in the creative process. We start with a skeleton script written by one of our lovely playwrights, and if we find something doesn't work along the way, we change it!
