Witchcraft in Their Lips
by University of Texas (other)

Dec. 09 - Dec. 10 (2015)

We are thrilled to announce auditions for WITCHCRAFT IN THEIR LIPS, a full-length play featuring scenes from Shakespeare's two history cycles presented with an all-female cast.

The play will consist entirely of Shakespeare text, pulled from the eight successive history plays (Richard II, 1 & 2 Henry IV, Henry V, 1-3 Henry VI, Richard III). Each actor will play multiple male and female roles.

This project is co-directed by Stephanie Donowho (BA/BS '14) and Nell McKeown (Plan II/English, '16) as an extension of their research on women and gender in Shakespeare's histories. Both presented on this topic at the 2015 ASC Blackfriars Conference, and Nell is currently writing her senior thesis on it.
