The Arkansaw Bear

Austin Playhouse is currently accepting actor submissions for their upcoming theatre for youth production of The Arkansaw Bearby Aurand Harris.
 
Performances are May 31 - June 12, daytime. Rehearsals will begin May 2nd and will be scheduled around actor availability, but may include daytime, evenings, and weekends.
 
All performances will be daytime. All actors will be compensated. 
 
About The Arkansaw Bear: This marvelous and daring play tells the story of a little girl named Tish, who has just discovered that her grandfather is dying. She runs away to her special tree, wishes upon a star, and escapes to a fantastical world of music, magic and dance. There she meets the world’s greatest dancing bear, who is also running away from death. In trying to help him, Tish begins to understand the meaning of life and death and learns how to cope with her own sadness. 
 
The Arkansaw Bear will be directed by Lara Toner and star Michael Stuart as the world’s great dancing bear and Marie Fahlgren as the Arkansaw Bear.

Tish (female 18 - 25, but able to play a girl),
the Wishing Star (adult male or female, any age),
the Mime (adult male or female, any age),
the Ringmaster (adult male or female, any age)
