Performance teaching artists, especially musical theatre dance and performance, musical direction, vocal direction, and hip-hop.

The Magik Theatre operates classes and camps for students aged 3 to 17 years, at The Magik Theatre, 420 S. Alamo Street in Hemisfair Park, and our new northside location, 5359 Casa Bella near UTSA. Each class has a specific focus while teaching our core values of creativity, confidence and teamwork. 


This is a paid position. Candidates must commit for the entire spring session of 14 weeks. Work hours are generally 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and/or 9:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. All major scheduling conflicts (vacations, alternative employment) must be noted within the original application to be honored without a deduction in pay.  Successful teaching artists have first choice of classes for the following semester and/or Spring Break Camp and Summer Camp employment.

Duties include:
  • Planning, preparing for, and leading class activities.
  • Assisting in the planning of integrated lessons.
  • Utilizing the resources of the theatre to provide a creative, stimulating environment for campers.
  • Directing the final performance and providing closure.
