EVITA is the seven-time Tony Award®-winning musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. A sung through pop opera, it tells of Eva Peron’s meteoric climb from the slums of Argentina to her role as beloved First Lady, to one of the most powerful women in the world. EVITA tells Eva's passionate and unforgettable true story through some of the theatre's most beautiful songs, including the unforgettable “Don't Cry for Me Argentina.”
ZACH Theatre’s production will be Directed and Choreographed by Nick Demos with Musical Direction by Allen Robertson.

ZACH Theatre announces local auditions for EVITA on Monday June 8th and Tuesday June 9th from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm in ZACH’s Nowlin Rehearsal Studio at 1426 Toomey Road. Callbacks will be scheduled July 6th-9th.

Rehearsals begin September 1st (weekday evenings and full weekend days). The production opens September 30th and will run through Novmber 1st. Performances will be (6 shows a week) Wednesday-Sunday with matinees on Saturday and Sunday.
NOTE: All actors will be considered for all roles.

Please include in the email a resume and headshot attached in PDF or Word Document format to auditions@zachtheatre.org. Please indicate in the email the character for which you will be auditioning. All actors should bring a hard copy headshot and resume to the audition.

If you are not able to be seen at this audition, ZACH will make all best efforts to schedule you for a later audition date.
ROLES TO BE CAST & AUDITIONS INSTRUCTION (Please read all details carefully, and only submit for a role for which you are qualified):
We are seeking both AEA and non-AEA actors.
All actors should prepare 32 bars of appropriate material that best shows your range. Please be prepared with alternate, contrasting musical selections. We are seeking strong singers.
EVA PERON: (plays 18-33) Seeking a strong Latina actress/singer who moves well to portray the beautiful, ambitious title role who rises from poor obscurity to become the First Lady of Argentina; Legit/Pop Mezzo with clear, strong mix that can belt to a high G. Vocal stamina a must.
CHE: (18-35) Seeking a strong Latino actor/singer who moves well to play political activist and narrator of the show, a radical who isn’t reluctant to ask tough questions and demand answers; high, rock, pop or legit tenor voice that can sing a low A to high B, falsetto to high F.
JUAN PERON: (30-50) An officer in the Argentinean army who rises to become the Argentine President. He is a man who is dignified, charming, and authoritative. Seeking a strong leading man/singer; Legit bass/baritone to high F.
MISTRESS: (15-21) Seeking a young actress/singer who moves well to play Juan Peron’s beautiful, vulnerable teenaged Mistress. This role will also appear in the Ensemble. Light Pop soprano low A to a high E.
MAGALDI: (30 – 40) Seeking a comedic character actor/singer to play down on his luck tango singer with whom Eva has her first love affair. This role will also appear in the Ensemble. Legit high tenor to G (& above).
TANGO COUPLE; (18-40) Seeking accomplished dance couple proficient in Argentine Tango. Singing a plus.
ADULT ENSEMBLE: (18-55) Seeking a broad range of males and females of all ethnicities who are excellent singers. Opera, Musical Theatre or Pop singers of all shapes are encouraged to audition to play everything from Generals to Peasants and be part of a fully featured, versatile ensemble. Seeking Singers who Move, Singers who Dance and Dancers who Sing.
CHILDRENS ENSEMBLE: Looking for 5 boys and 5 girls ages 7-15. Must sing and be able to hold harmonies.
