ZACH’s Theatre for Families Series announces auditions for Alice in Wonderland on Monday, November 2nd from 9:00am-2:00pm and Tuesday November 3rd from 9am-12pm.  Auditions will be held at ZACH’s Nowlin Rehearsal Studio at 1426 Toomey Road, Austin, TX 78704.  Callbacks will be scheduled on Thursday November 5th from 9:00am-2:00pm.  

 

 

REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:

Rehearsals begin February 5, 2016 and run through May 2016.  Performances will be Tuesdays through Sundays; weekday matinee performances will be at 10:00am and 12:00pm; weekend performances will be at 11:00am, 2:00pm, and 6:30pm.

Actors will be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Please include in the email a resume and headshot attached in PDF or Word Document format.  Please indicate in the email the character for which you will be auditioning, and your preferred audition time.  All actors should bring a hard copy headshot and resume to the audition. 

 

AUDITION INSTRUCTION:

We are seeking 2-3 MEN and 2-3 WOMEN, all non-AEA.  All Actors must be physically versatile, strong singers and move well; a bonus if you can play a musical instrument.  Please prepare a two-minute monologue of your choice.  

 

All ethnicities, ages and types are encouraged to audition.  Actors should only audition if they will have daytime availability in February, March, April, and May.  

 

ROLES TO BE CAST (Please submit for a role for which you are qualified):

 

Alice (Female, 7-13) Strong willed and intensely curious, Alice struggles with the rigid rules of her household.

 

Mother/Humpty Dumpty/March Hare (Female or Male, 18-50) Mother is quite proper.  Humpty Dumpty is pompous but also extremely sensitive.  March Hare is obsessed with time but terrible at telling it.  

 

Tutor/Red Queen (Female or Male, 18-60) Tutor is very passionate about conjugating verbs properly.  Red Queen is a smoldering terror.   

 

Butler/Knave/Duchess (Female or Male, 18-40) Butler is a bumbler.  Knave is a ne’er-do-well, a California beach bum far from the ocean.  The Duchess is great at keeping secrets but not so great at knitting.   

 

Paper Queen/ Caterpillar (Female or Male, 18-40) Paper Queen is easily fooled, and really into music.  The caterpillar loves a good riddle but his intentions are not entirely on the level.   

 

Mad Mary/Flower/Mad Hatter (Female or Male,, 18-40) Mad Mary is the maid, quite mad. Mad Hatter is an inventor and a wordsmith, he’s quite possibly madder.  Flower’s just a mad gossip.
