Austin’s newest and most rockin’ holiday tradition!  Each year, ZACH's “A Christmas Carol” features new hit songs and reimagined carols that create an infectious spirit that will have everyone dancing in the aisles.  ZACH's fresh and inspired adaptation of Charles Dickens' beloved classic juxtaposes the traditional Victorian setting and costumes with a modern musical score that spans all genres.  Come celebrate the season with three soulful ghosts, the Cratchit family’s boundless love, and Ebenezer Scrooge’s miraculous and joyous transformation.

 

AUDITION NOTICE

 

ZACH Theatre announces local auditions by appointment for A CHRISTMAS CAROL on Tuesday, October 11th from 3:00pm – 11:00pm in ZACH’s Nowlin Rehearsal Studio at 1426 Toomey Road.  Callbacks will be scheduled on Friday, October 14th from 6:00pm – 10:00pm in the JLA Studio in the Whisenhunt building.

REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:

Rehearsals begin October 24th with performances beginning November 23rd.  The production will run through December 31st, with shows Tuesdays through Sundays at 7:30pm and Saturday and Sundays at 2:30pm.  (No performances on Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Eve.)

Actors will be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

“(YOUR FIRST NAME, YOUR LAST NAME) CHRISTMAS CAROL AUSTIN AUDITIONS”

 

Please include in the email a resume and headshot attached in PDF or Word Document format, and please indicate your preferred audition time.  All actors should bring a hard copy headshot and resume to the audition.

 

All AEA members will be seen, and all non-union members will be seen while appointments slots are available.  If you are not able to be seen at this audition, ZACH will make all best efforts to schedule you for a later audition date.

 

AUDITION INSTRUCTION:

We are seeking actors, of any ethnicity, age, shape and size; all actors will be considered for all roles.  Actors should prepare 2 contrasting pop/rock/R&B songs of your choice and bring relevant sheet music.  You may be asked to sing the entire song, or a selection.  If you play a musical instrument, please bring it to the audition and be prepared to play (piano skills are a plus).  

 

ROLES TO BE CAST:

Ebenezer Scrooge:  The miserly owner of a London accountant's office. The three spirits of Christmas visit the stodgy bean-counter in hopes of reversing Scrooge's greedy, cold-hearted approach to life. Age 50 – 65. Should be able to carry a tune.

 

 

Ensemble:  Members of the Ensemble will also double as Townspeople, Party Guests, Carolers, Vendors, etc.
