Set in San Antonio in 1950, beneath a bridge on the River Walk on a summer evening, Moon In All Your Splendor is a six-character, one-act play about memory, self-deception, the stories we create about ourselves—and what happens when reality intrudes on the story we need to believe.

ELIZABETH HOLTZ — Playing age 25–30
Currently casting Elizabeth Holtz, the female lead in the first production of an original one-act play, Moon In All Your Splendor.
ELIZABETH is intelligent, curious, and full of contradictions. She has an easy wit and an openness to connection, while carrying more beneath the surface than she initially reveals. I'm looking for a strong, imaginative actress who enjoys working with subtext and discovering what isn't being said.
As this is the first production of the play, I'm particularly interested in a collaborative actress who would enjoy helping develop the role through rehearsal.
The production will be presented at FronteraFest 2027 at Hyde Park Theatre, an established Austin performance festival and a wonderful opportunity to perform new work before audiences from across the Austin theatre community.
DATES & COMMITMENT
There will be a limited number of rehearsals in October, November and December, with a more concentrated schedule in January.
Final dress/tech and invited friends-and-family performance: January 21, 2027 — Dougherty Arts Center
FronteraFest Short Fringe performance: January TBD, 2027 — Hyde Park Theatre
Because of the festival's advancement format, the production could perform up to four times, with possible performances through February 13.
Small stipend provided.

Selected applicants will receive a monologue for self-tape. Full play will be available before you tape. Finalists will be invited to an in-person audition in October.
