Auditions for a role in Silent Sky with Unity Theatre on Aug 22.
Unity Theatre is holding auditions for Lauren Gunderson’s "Silent Sky" directed by Artistic Director Kate Revnell-Smith. Auditions will be Saturday, August 22, starting at noon and taped auditions will also be accepted. Auditions will consist of reading of the script and provided ahead of time. Rehearsal will begin on January 21, 2027, and the show runs February 18 through March 7, 2027.
 
Available roles:
Henrietta Leavitt - 30’s, brilliant astronomer, a woman ahead of her time
Margaret Leavitt - 30’s, traditional homebody, this role requires singing “For the Beauty of the Earth"
Annie Cannon - 40’s, sharp-witted, confident, advocate for women’s rights
Peter Shaw - 30’s, intelligent, awkward, supervises the women at Harvard Observatory
 
Note:the role of Williamina Fleming is not available.
