Fiddler on the Roof
by Playhouse 2000

May. 31 - Jun. 01

Auditions for a role in Fiddler on the Roof with Playhouse 2000 on May 31 through Jun 01.

Auditions for Fiddler on the Roof – Sunday, May 31 at 2:30 pm and Monday, June 1 at 6:30 pm

Fiddler On The Roof is one of the world’s most iconic stage musicals.  It combines laughter and sadness with a gorgeous score full of memorable songs and characters.  Set in the Jewish enclave of Anatevka, it tells a heartwarming tale of changing times.

Performances July 24-August 9, 2026

The Playhouse 2000 production will feature a large cast and chorus led by  Stage Director Heather Cunningham and Music Director Alexis Korbe, with guest artists Jane and Jeffrey Brown in the roles of “Golde” and “Tevye”.  All other roles will be cast from the audition.

Auditions will be held in The Cailloux Theater on Sunday, May 31 at 2:30 and Monday, June 1 at 6:30.  While you are welcome at both, you are only expected to attend and be heard at one audition session unless specially informed about call-backs.

Depending on the turnout, you can plan on spending between 1 and 2 hours at the audition which will include a group singing audition, a group movement audition – both required for all who are able – and individual singing/reading auditions for those interested in leading or featured roles.

Everyone is invited to audition, and “emotional support guests” are welcome,  but remember that we do our best to work very professionally.

When you arrive for the audition, please be prepared with:

  • Enough personal info to fill in the 1-page audition form with a few recent credits (you can easily do this when you arrive.)
  • Clothes you can move in and closed-toed shoes.
  • An open and willing attitude to try what we ask you

Those interested in leading and featured roles should also prepare:

  • 32 bars of a song in the Broadway style
  • Sheet music for your song to give to the accompanist we provide (no a-capella or recorded accompaniment auditions, please.)

Advance copies of the Fiddler script can be checked out for two days (seriously, two!) at P2K’s VK Garage Theater office, 305 Washington Street.
