I am looking for people who feel comfortable collaborating with other people, who feel okay with the idea of going in with no text, and people who are not afraid of experimentation, of pushing the boundaries of what live performance is, or could be. If you have devising or experimental experience great, if not that's okay too. No matter what your background is -- actor, writer, director, stage manager, dancer, technician -- if this journey sounds exciting to you then reach out and let's talk.

Hello! Chris Fontanes here, founder of Bottle Alley Theatre and company member and Associate Artistic Director of The VORTEX here.
There's not a lot I can tell you about this project, but here is what I CAN tell you:
- This project is NOT associated with either of the two companies I am associated with (Bottle Alley and The VORTEX) though it could be in the future. For now though, it is entirely its own thing.
- This is a devised project. Devising means you start only with an idea. The text, scenes, moments all get created through the process.
- This is a highly experimental project. The end result will be to create an experience, rather than necessarily a staged performance.
- There is no timeline for this. To me the creation process is always hindered by one thing -- the performance. So what happens when we remove the expectation of the inevitable performance? Will we work on this for three months? Six months? A year? We'll see.
- What does the weekly time commitment look like for this? Not sure. We'll get into a room and figure it out. I am thinking we'll meet twice a month.
- We will get started on this in January 2024.
That's pretty much all I can tell you at this point. I am not necessarily looking for strictly actors, I am looking for storytellers.
I will be accepting applications into this project until NOVEMBER 30TH, 2023.
