Salado Legends

Salado Legends tells the story of the Scottish settlers, Tonkawa Indians and Spanish explorers in Salado by the exploration of the History and Legends of Salado Texas. You will find tales of Texas Frontier Life, The Tonkawa Indians’ Legends, and the Civil War are interwoven throughout the play with delightful music and dance. The Play is  in the Congressional Library as the best representation of Life in the mid 1800's.

 


Come join the Tablerock Festival of Salado Family . Auditions are continuing for The 30th Annual Production of Salado Legends, Central Texas’ favorite outdoor musical drama. The audition dates are Friday May 12 6 pm - 8 pm, Saturday May 13 2 pm - 5 pm  and Friday May 19 6 pm - 8 pm, Saturday May 20 2 pm - 5 pm at Tablerock Festival of Salado Aphitheater located at 409 Royal Street Salado, TX.

Our  ensemble cast  can range from 6 years old to 80 years old. At present we are looking for an adult  male lead who can sing in baritone range  and female adult lead who can sing in a soprano/ alto range. There are also speaking roles for adult males and female character actors. We are looking for two horsemen who have their own horses to play cowboy roles in the play. Ensemble boys and girls,over the age of 13 may be able, under adult supervision, to fire black powder period weapons during battle scenes. Actors going to college or taking college classes in high school may apply for scholarships  from the Festival Scholarship Committee.

The play rehearsals are from June 5 - July 21, 2023 with performances July 22, 29, and August 5, 2023.
