by Rosedale Shakespeare

Aug. 09 - Aug. 12 (2018)

Sorcery and fate, ambition and honor, cunning and bravery fight for dominance as Something for Nothing Theater stages its 2018 fall production of Shakespeare's MACBETH directed by Mary Beyer. In a land where witches prophesy the fall of dynasties, ghosts lurk among the dinner guests, and families are forced to flee their homes, the promise of power has driven one former soldier to unthinkable corruption. Can Scotland survive the reign of Macbeth?

Actors of all races, genders, and physical abilities strongly encouraged to attend. Don't feel like you have the "traditional" Shakespearean look, body type, or personality? Perfect! Neither do we! We're seeking dedicated, creative, versatile performers to play multiple roles in this thrilling Shakespearean horror-tragedy. The role of Ross has been pre-cast. All other roles are currently open and we encourage performers to audition for any characters (regardless of gender, age, etc.).

Auditions will consist of a one-minute prepared classical monologue and cold readings from the script. If you are willing to sing in the performance, please prepare one minute or less of an a capella song. If you play an instrument, please prepare one minute or less of a song of your choice. Auditions will be held August 9th (7 pm-9 pm) and August 11th and 12th (10 am-1 pm) at the pavilion in Ramsey Park (4301 N. Rosedale Avenue). Callbacks are August 16th and 18th 10 am-1 pm at the same location. All roles are paid.

Please email to request an audition.

We look forward to seeing you!
