Black Dog
by Bottle Alley Theatre Company

May. 14 - May. 16 (2018)

Black Dog is a site-specific and immersive theatrical piece revolving around the relationship between two women - Ophelia and Rainey - who capture, torture, kill and consume men who have been accused of sex crimes. The play deals with themes of violence, cannibalism, and memory and is not for the faint of heart (or stomach) .

Bottle Alley Theatre Company shall be holding auditions for a cast of two women and one man for our world premiere production of Black Dog. This show is the second show in our fifth season, which is entitled Jump Off A Building

Performances will take place over six nights in late July or early August. Rehearsal schedules will be made up once the cast is finalized based on availability but will generally be two nights a week.

Bottle Alley Theatre Company is a DIY punk theatre company specializing in found space theatre. We have been staging strictly original work in all manner of odd places since 2012. Our work aspires to be raw, visceral, immersive, thought-provoking and, above all, honest.

We firmly believe that all artists should be paid to do the thing that they love and therefore our performers are paid, and will always be paid, a small stipend upon the conclusion of the run. It usually not winds up being very much, but the ticket sales are divided equally amongst the performers.

1. Please email your headshot and resume (don't have one? That's okay too) to Director Dani Stetka @ creatively.dani@gmail.com

2. You'll be sent back the script. Please read the script. We do this because we feel, with original work that it is important to know exactly what you are getting into.

3. Upon reading the script, please reply back to confirm audition date and time. Additionally, please include a brief statement on what drew you to this play and if you have a preference to a specific part (or are open to any).  At that point you'll be told, via email, exactly what you'll need to prepare for the audition itself.
