Murder Mystery Audience Participation Dinner Theatre

Murder at Rutherford House was first performed September 10, 1986 Off-Broadway in New York City. Written and directed by Tom Chiodo and Peter DePietro.

It is the fifth anniversary of the death of Lord William Rutherford, and Lady Rutherford is throwing her annual dinner party in commemoration of his death as required by his Last Will and Testament.

LADY MILLICENT RUTHERFORD – The domineering, sultry lady of the house (50-ish)

CAMERON WORTHLESTON - Engaged to Sarah…with a pre-nup worth 1% of her inheritance (30-ish)

SARAH RUTHERFORD – Millicent’s less glamorous twin daughter, naïve, sweet (25-ish)*

HERMIONE RUTHERFORD – Her reality is warped, panhandles rather than embrace her fortune (65-ish)

WENDLE WEEDLE, P.I. - Friend of the family, eloquent, well-read, writer of college texts (60-ish)

LORD OSWALD RUTHERFORD – William’s younger brother, dresses outrageously, full of energy (55-ish)

BARONESS GRETA VON KEEPSEMFRUMFLOPPEN - Buxom, German accent (40-ish)

CAMILLE RUTHERFORD – Stunning, mysterious, Sarah’s twin, soft-spoken until provoked (25-ish)*

CHADWICK STERLING – International jet-setter, entrepreneur (50-ish)

*Sarah and Camille are played by the same actress

Mary Farrar, Director, is a 25 year veteran of murder mystery dinner theater as a member of Capital City Murder Mystery Players, Austin, Texas, as well as her own Die Laughing Productions based in our neighboring City, Smithville. She will be particularly interested in comic timing, improvisational skills, and a teamwork attitude in those auditioning. Ages indicated are suggested but flexible.
