(via Cohen New Works Festival)The Cohen New Works Festival takes place April 10th through the 14th of 2017. It is produced biennially and provides a space for artists to take risks, builds bridges between educational and professional communities and cultivate a diverse artistic community for students. The festival exists to support, promote, and champion original, student-generated work across a variety of artistic mediums. This year's festival is made up of 39 projects including performance pieces, plays, installations, musicals, operas, dance pieces, and lots of other hybrid forms. 


Auditions for New Works Festival projects will be on Saturday, January 21st from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. with callbacks on Sunday, January 22nd from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Students from all majors are invited to audition as are artists from the Austin community.

10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - General Acting Auditions (5 minute time slots, two contrasting monologues)

2:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. - Movement Auditions

3:15 - 4:00 p.m. - Antonia

4:45 - 5:30 p.m. - F is for Freedom
5:30 - 6:15 p.m. - Garbage of Eden
6:15 - 7:00 p.m. - Hobo Salon
7:00 - 7:45 p.m. - Scary/Freaky/Gross/Cold/Witch/Girl
7:45 - 8:30 p.m. - Swadesh

8:00 - 10:00 p.m. - General Voice Auditions (3 minute time slots, 1 minute song of choice)
